Serious Confessions

This thread needs ressurecting as a few new items have come to light. One I had bacon on the morning after my birthday bash which was very nice. We have admitted our problem but I think that we should help all the other unfortunates out there.

I think that Lizzie's mum, Annette, has more of a problem. She bought 5 packets of bacon last week. I think she needs to join in the confessing here. It is a phenomenal bacon usage!

I shouldn't have done but I have been doing. On a Sunday morning, I regularly consume strips of luscious bacon in between two sliced pieces of organic bread. Gorgeous, lovely, scrumptious, are just three adjectives that could be used to describe the sensation. I admit it, I eat and crave it now more frequently than before.

Extraordinary, what a gal!

Surely that is some sort of record. I think she should be 'guest of honour' if we ever host a 'BUA' meeting.

As far as I know it was generally just for her. I don't think that Doreen (Lizzie's gran) would be a fan of bacon butties! :D

Why not? My gran likes nothing more than to get her chompers on a bacon sarnie for a Saturday lunch treat :D

From what my Mum's said, my Grandma doesn't eat breakfast, but has a daily brunch, involving a mini fry-up. With the bacon, the sweet, succulent bacon...mmm.

My gran and your gran should get together and swop bacon stories over a nice pot of tea.

I love the fact that bacon is appealing to the elderly. What I also love is the attitudes of the different ages to bacon

The elderly - Bacon is the treat of the week,
The young - Bacon is the hangover breakfast,

Bacon is also a good start to an exam filled day as I found out this week. Unfortunately I used the last Bacon yesterday so I could not have a bacon buttie this morning (after a night out in Sub Space).

Instead I have discovered that Cheese Toasties are a good ish replacement! :D

Were they prepared in a bonifide toastie machine and what cheese did you use? I have not had a cheese toastie in a long while, and mere cheese on toast pales in comparison. Shame about the lack of bacon in your gaff, I guess the exam prevented your getting any in, you will have to look into that for your next alcoholic adventure :D

Quality! Cheese and Bacon! I used the genuine toastie maker device. This is a rock on quality piece of kit! :D

Oh no! We had had news reporting today that our favourite cured meat meal has been given the thumbs down by health experts!

Bacon Butties damage lungs! Apparently they cause alterations similiar to emphysema due to the high level of nitrates. I personally am shocked by this and will have to reduce my consumption of Bacon and other cured meats like Ham. The problem is that Ham is my favourite meat ever!
